Missions

One of our Mission projects was the Silent Auction/Ice Cream Social to benefit the Bureau County Health and Wellness Clinic, on August 11, 2007.

On September 9, 2007, Gertrude Eldridge, a congregation member and volunteer at the clinic, made the presentation to Kate Terlep, director of the BCHW Clinic.   We all had a great time and look forward to our continued alliance with the clinic.

COMPASSION CHILD

We currently sponsor a boy in Indonesia named Alan Jhohan Marco Tefa. He is 12 years old, lives with his father and mother and 3 siblings. He is in the 7th grade.

CAMPUS CRUSADE FOR CHRIST

Our church is providing spiritual and financial assistance to Brent and Stephanie Batiste for their ministry at Northern Illinois University. They provide Christian ministry, guidance and friendship to the students and DeKalb, Illinois.

TOOLS FOR HOPE AND BLANKETS

On an annual basis, we have a month-long drive for contributions to the Tools of Hope and Blankets Program of the Church World Service Organization. These funds place in the hands of people in need, ordinary things, things that we often take for granted like blankets, education, clean water, garden tools and seeds for planting.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

On Sunday, November 4th, 2007, we had a "Present Party" to put together shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.  The gifts included school supplies, toys, hygiene items, socks,  hand held games and many other small gifts.

On Tuesday, November 13th, we delivered 23 shoebox gifts to the collection point in Peru, Illinois.

The collective efforts of thousands of churches, groups, and volunteers across the United States, as well as 10 other sending nations, help make this annual project of Samaritan's Purse possible.  In-country ministry partners distribute the boxes to needy children, in more than 100 countries, as well as follow-up evangelistic materials provided by Samaritan's Purse.  Boys and girls learn about Jesus, the best gift of all, through Bible study courses offered at local churches, and many place their faith in Him.
