Presbyterian Women
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit we commit ourselves: To support the mission of the church worldwide; to work for justice and peace, and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witness to the promise of God's Kingdom.
The PW celebrate Creative Ministries by having an annual Birthday offering and Thanks offering. They celebrate the Christian Community by participating in the Fellowship of the Least Coin, Church Women United, Tools for Hope and Blankets and denomination programs of the Hunger Fund and Peacemaking. This association has an Afternoon Circle group which meets to 3rd Wednesday and an Evening Circle group that meets the 1st Tuesday.
Presbyterian Women is also associated with Church Women United. Hospitality, of course, is simply the act of welcoming. We in CWU emphasize the importance of welcoming – warmly welcoming newcomers especially, but also one another as we gather together again for worship, study, and Christian service. God’s extravagant hospitality draws us to the depths of our spirituality and then brings forward, time and time again, to live in more extravagantly welcoming ways, so we can reach out to the stranger and care for those in need. As God plants love within us, so we are called to plant the seeds of love wherever we go.
